Video footage shot in Taiwan from 1990-2008. Instructional demonstrations done by Grandmaster Gene Chicoine and his students from the Ho Chun School of Chinese Martial Arts in Akron Ohio. Footage was shot in various places including Political Warfare College in Taipei, Taipei Central Police University, Tainan, Kaishung and Ping Tung. Person Demonstrating in this video is Shawn Slonsky. The concept behind this style when used for fighting is to hit then throw. These well placed strikes generally take your opponent out before you even get him off his feet. When he hits the ground it's usually over but if not there are a miriad of other applications that can come into play at that point.

Instructions provided by Master Steven Zhao, former Canadian Shuai Jiao champion, Regional Chinese Shuai Jiao champion and certified internation level Shuai Jiao judge. For each move you will learn: - relative body and feet position and motion - where to grab the opponent - how to pull the opponent - how and where to apply force to misdirect balance, control balance, throw opponent - where to pivot your leg and feet and direction to turn your head - which direction to flip the opponent - solo and paired exercises to develop strength to perform the moves and perform the counter-move. The 2005 Shuaijiao King - Gao Yu vs Yuan Linchun
Beijing's Gao Yu vs. Shaanxi's Yun Linchun. This fight is from the finals of this competition. Each fighter is their respective weight class "king" hence the yellow dalian. This is one fight from the finals where the "kings" compete to find the "King of Kings". In this event it was a lightweight from Mongolia who took the coveted "Shuaijiao King" title. However, Gao Yu - who lost the final - put on the best demonstration of skill and technique. Gao Yu is a Beijinger, Muslim, and graduate of Tianjin Sports Institute with a major in Chinese Wrestling and many time national champion of China.
