Mighty Orbots - The Wish World Part 1

From well-of-souls.com Episode 2 - The Wish World Umbra, after suffering yet another defeat at the hands of the Orbots against Kattron in the Emerald nebula, devises a plan to use Ohno's insecurity about being "only a robot" against them. His shape-shifting agent Plasmus lures Ohno to the Wish World, where (at her request) she is transformed into a human. Meanwhile, Umbra has opened a hyper-warp in the orbital path of the moon Doranis, a key United Planets defense location. Dia is sent to investigate, but the storms caused by the hyper-warp force her to crashland her cruiser on Doranis. Mighty Orbots is called in to help; unfortunately, Ohno in her human form can't provide the ignition key the Orbots need to successfully unite. They head back to the Emerald nebula in the hopes of using the nebula's energies (channeled through Bo and Bort) to return Ohno to her robot form; but they are waylaid by Plasmus, who has also absorbed the nebula's energy, and grown to a gigantic size. All the while, Doranis' orbit carries it (and Dia) ever deeper into the hyper-warp and oblivion...

Vectorman Commercial

Released in October 1995 Story In 2049, the human population of Earth embarks on a migratory voyage to try and colonize other planets. They leave mechanical "orbots" to clean up the mess they made on Earth through littering and pollution. Raster, a high-level orbot who watches Earth through a planetwide computer network, is accidentally attached to a working nuclear missile by a lesser orbot and goes insane, becoming an evil dictator named Warhead. He declares himself ruler of Earth, and begins preparing to execute any humans who dare return to their planet. Enter Vectorman, a humble orbot in charge of cleaning up toxic sludge by simply discharging it into the sun. As he lands on Earth after his last trip, he finds chaos and confusion. Because all the other Orbots are controlled by Warhead, Vectorman takes it upon himself to destroy the errant orbot and restore peace to Earth.

Publication: tasvideos.org Vectorman (1995) is one of the later games for Genesis; it sports multiple gameplay modes, pre-rendered 3D models and some very nice visual effects. According to its plot, the Earth's population decided they have polluted it enough, and migrated elsewhere, leaving robots made of orbs ("orbots") behind to clean up the mess. One of the higher level orbots gets his head accidentally attached to a nuclear warhead, goes insane and usurps total control over all mechanical beings left on the planet. This is the state the main hero, orbot Vectorman, finds it in after returning from one of his garbage discharging missions.

Vectorman [PS2 Alpha Trailer - UNRELEASED!] by SEGA

www.unseen64.net April 22, 2003 - As we originally reported last week, several of the latest print magazines had testified that two of Sega's popular 16-bit titles Altered Beast and Vectorman would be making an appearance on PlayStation 2 at this year's E3. Sure enough, Sega of America announced this morning that it would be unveiling the Pseudo Interactive-developed actioner at the show in anticipation for its early 2004 release. "Vectorman doles out destruction in spades," said Mike Fischer, vice president of marketing, Sega of America, Inc. "With a massive arsenal of circuit-shredding weapons and upgrades, things are bound to get messy. You'll almost start feeling bad for the Orbots. Almost." Originally produced on the Sega Genesis almost a decade ago, the new Vectorman game will once again cast players as the modular superhero robot. Empowered with the ability to upgrade and change his parts, VM will have access to 15 different weapons and 25 various upgrades as he strives to rescue the planet Gamma 6 from an evil Orbot known as Volt. While the meat of the game is still being saved for E3, certain details have been revealed to appease the expected horde of hungry fans. The advanced physics engine that allows for destructible, fully interactive environments and War of the Monsters-like debris shields are but a few of them. Also interesting is the purported "advanced artificial intelligence" that instructs the Orbots to live and react realistically as they work and ...
