Likely the toughest of all iPhone cases, the Defender is now available for the iPhone 4. The Defender offers multiple layers of protection for your iPhone in less than ideal usage. The first layer is a two-piece hardshell with a felt backing. The shell features a built-in film screen shield to protect the iPhone screen. Surrounding the shell is a rubbery skin that adds additional shock protection. To top it off, the case offers a snap on belt clip, which can be yet another layer. Overall the case seems to offers rugged protection of the iPhone. Familiar is a good term for the exterior of the iPhone 4S. When the 4 was unveiled in the summer of 2010 it was a strikingly different design from anything else on the market -- glass on the front and back, exposed screws holding together a deliciously clean ring of stainless steel. It was kind of chunky and industrial, like a tastefully refinished factory loft -- a big contrast to the smooth and nondescript models that came before. The iPhone 4 was something truly new and, for the days and weeks after its release, just spotting one in the wild caused a sensation. It was so different that people wanted to touch and hold the thing, to see how it felt in the hand. Few are going to go out of their way to touch and hold the iPhone 4S, but that's not to say it isn't very nice to grasp. The iPhone 4 felt like a finely crafted piece of machinery and there's no doubt this one walks in those very same footsteps. Compared to your average modern Android wunderphone the 4S feels small, dense and heavy, a very different sensation than the occasionally lighter but frequently more plasticky competition. The 4S does actually have slightly more heft than the 4, but only by carefully holding one in each hand can you notice the increase from 137 grams (4.83 ounces) to 140 (4.94 ounces). Save for a few tweaks that even the most dedicated Appleista wouldn't be able to spot at a distance, the 4S is identical from the exterior. The Shield Micra from Belkin is a clear snap on case for the iPhone 4. The case feels like is a clear acrylic or polycarbonate and offers protection without significantly changing the appearance of the iPhone 4. The trick with clear cases is not only keeping the phone clean, but also both sides of the case. As you can see in the close up, even applying the case resulted in some debris and finger prints. *Update: surprised how many people are so butthurt by a neutral opinion on a phone, Yes I prefer the iPhone (jailbroken) that doesn't mean I think everyone has to have it This is my review of my factory unlocked iPhone 4 16GB iOS 5.0.1 In my own opinion expressed in the video, I explain why android users may think why android, blackberry, windows or other OS' is better than iOS and I can agree with them (explained in the video). Basic iOS is extremely limited OS with about 0 to no customization options, "you have access to buy apps from the app store", and you have basic phone features too (not very appealing). I paid $680 after taxes in the US for my iPhone 4, why? The only reason I use apple anything is because of cydia. I would never have thought twice about iOS products if cydia did not exist (cydia is installed through what is called jailbreaking). What the cydia application allows iOS users to do is gain full access to your device and let's you literally mkakake your phone do anything a mobile phone could possibly be capable of. Though publicly disliked by apple itself, at the same time jailbroken iPhones are where apple gets at least 2/3 of there ideas for updating iOS. Without cydia iOS would more than likely still be similar to iOS 2.0 which would make the iPhone an obsolete and failing product. The only reason apple dislikes jailbreaking is because you have access to installous (access to almost every app store app completely free). Apple's satatement on <b>...</b>
