Pediatric Chiropractor - Adjusting an Infant - Dr Cynthia Horner

www.drcynthiahorner.com I am often met with surprise when people hear me say I adjust infants. "Why would an infant need to be adjusted?" is the question that usually follows. As surprising and unusual as it may seem, it makes perfect sense to have your infant checked by a pediatric chiropractor trained and experienced in chiropractic care for infants. Today's birthing practices are harder on infants than most realize. A mother lying on her back doesn't have gravity to help her birth her baby. With the standard birth practices babies stay in the birth canal longer and need more intervention such as the doctor assisting by pulling the baby's head, the use of forceps or vacuum distraction. When a birthing mom is given an epidural it becomes impossible for her to participate in the dance of contractions and rest necessary to effectively allow her baby to progress through the birth canal. Because of unnatural uterine constriction some babies take on a cramped posture or have a leg overhead. It is common to find the umbilical cord wrapped around the birthing infants head. Any of these common birthing scenarios can be the cause of misaligned vertebrae called subluxations. Subluxations create irritation to nerve roots and interfere with the transmission of messages from the brain to organs in the body. A C-section delivery does not allow the infant's head to be compressed in the birth canal then released upon delivery to start a strong cranial sacral pump of cerebral spinal ...

Cow's Milk-Induced Infant Apnea

The opiate-like effects of the casomorphin in cow's milk may have a depressive effect on the respiratory center of infants and lead to "milk apnea," in which babies temporarily stop breathing and are placed at risk for sudden infant death syndrome (crib death). Routine Infant Circumcision

Infant circumcision is a very controversial and emotionally charged topic. Even doctors have their personal feelings about the procedure — and unfortunately, they do not all agree. A doctor advising circumcision of a healthy infant for any reason is going against the recommendations of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) and every other medical association in the world. For the Pros, Cons and Truth of Infant Circumcision, visit: www.homiegfunk.com Circumcision removes vital skin structure and function. The foreskin is not just unnecessary skin. It is an important, complex structure that contains an elaborate network of nerve endings, making up about half of the erogenous tissue of the penis. The foreskins purpose during infancy is to protect the glans (the part of the penis inside the foreskin) from infections from urine and feces. In adulthood, it enhances sexual pleasure due to the intact erogenous tissue and provides lubrication for the mans sexual partner. Circumcision violates infants rights. Before deciding on circumcision you may want to consider your sons rights. An article published in Humane Health Care International explains that circumcision of infants is a violation of the seven principles of medical ethics. Hudobné úlety s The Infants

Mladučkú kapelu The Infants tvoria dve šarmantné dievčatá a dvaja štýloví chalani. Od svojho vzniku a prvej skúšky 17. februára 2007 sú veľmi príjemným oživením slovenskej scény. Ich trendy look a nenútený postoj k skladaniu a nahrávaniu hudby vyvoláva kontroverzné reakcie. Nespochybniteľným plusom pre nich sú hlavne jednoduché, spevné a fungujúce pesničky, ktoré pôsobia vďaka svojmu zvuku (nahrávané v gitaristovej detskej izbe) príjemne a odľahčene. "Born to fly--An Infant's Journey to God" Book Author, Cindy Claussen

YOU CAN PURCHASE THIS SONG ON iTUNES at www.cdbaby.com Find the book, "Born to fly--An Infant's Journey to God" at www.borntoflyonline.com OR http The song "The Promise," is also written by Cindy Claussen Vocals by Elisabeth Cloven Composed by Dave Meumann Born to Fly--An Infant's Journey to God Twenty-three years after her son Nathans stillbirth, Cindy Claussen was filled with a need to write this story of hope and healing. Designed with soft colors and simple illustrations, the pages of Born to Fly An Infants Journey God, contain Nathans conversation with God as he hears his fathers strong voice and experiences the sensation of his Mothers warm touch for the first time. "I will kick her so she knows I love her too," Nathan tells God. When Nathan shares with God that he is not feeling well and is growing weary, God wipes His eyes and tells the child that soon he will fly. "I will fly? Will my mother fly with me?" Nathan asks. "Someday," God assures him. The simplicity of the story is what makes it so powerful. Born to Fly is indeed a little treasure that is sure to leave its delicate imprint on your heart. A review of the book by CJ "Mom of 3 on Earth and 4 who fly" Having suffered a stillbirth two months ago, a bereavement nurse gave this book to me today. It couldn't have been published at a better time. It is so poignant, touching and beautiful. It made me cry, but it is a healing cry. My husband and friends were equally moved by it. Austin's Fluoridated Water Supply is Poisoning Our Children

Should Austin's infants and children be drinking our tap water when it tastes moldy and more like the bottom of Lake Austin than healthy, pure water? According to the Environmental Working Group, Austin's tap water exceeds the EPA's health limits for chlorinated compounds, lead, and coliform bacteria. Also, many may not be aware that City Council distributes a one size fits all medication, fluoride, through our water supply. Because of the distribution method for fluoride, children and adults get the same amount in a glass of water. And, because there is no dose adjustment or control for size, weight, height, or sensitivity, fluoride causes multiple side effects such as dental fluorosis, hypothyroidism, osteosclerosis and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) has issued a powerful Resolution against fluoridation. In addition, the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of the fluoride chemical, hydrofluorosilicic acid, that is added to Austin's water supply, recently included a health warning for children. www.prnewswire.com www.fluoridefreeaustin.org www.pressleyforaustin.com www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv twitter.com www.facebook.com

Still Face Experiment: Dr. Edward Tronick

Copyright © 2007 ZERO TO THREE www.zerotothree.org Dr. Ed Tronick, director of UMass Boston's new Infant-Parent Mental Health Program http and Distinguished Professor of Psychology, discusses the cognitive abilities of infants to read and react to their social surroundings. The video is an exerpt from Lovett Productions' , HELPING BABIES FROM THE BENCH: USING THE SCIENCE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD IN COURT. Using the "Still Face" Experiment, in which a mother denies her baby attention for a short period of time, Dr. Tronick describes how prolonged lack of attention can move an infant from good socialization, to periods of bad but repairable socialization. In "ugly" situations the child does not receive any chance to return to the good, and may become stuck.
