Many of you have already seen our tutorial for "No-Heat Headband Curls here... http Instead of using a headband on this one, we used simple socks! This is super easy to do, and the curls last a long time. I also like pin curls or rag/paper bag curls but they can take up to 20-30 minutes or more to put in. This takes literally 2 minutes to put in, and you can style the hairdo the next day in any number of combinations! I tied in the socks lower, because we are totally into the low curls lately... but you could roll them all the way up for more volumous curls up top. It is key to make sure that the hair is slightly damp {not wet} anytime you want no-heat curls. If the hair is too wet, it will not hold the curl as well. Aren't these ho-heat curl hairstyles so fun? A friend of mine, Kori at {http was the first to come up with this waterfall braid cheat and we wanted to share it with you as well! Items Needed: Brush or rat-tail comb, 1 bobby pin, hairspray {if desired}. Time Requirement: 5 minutes Steps: 1. Start on front right of the head and section out a large strand of hair that can be your base for the twist around the head. 2. Divide this strand in two equal pieces and twist them around each other once. 3. Take a new selected strand of hair and place it between your twisting strands, so that it literally falls through. 4. Twist the two original strands once more. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 all the way around the back of the head and towards the top of the left ear. 6. When you finish your last twist, grab a bobby pin and secure the end of the twist above the ear, making sure to hide the bobby pin as best as you can. 7. It was probably the most unique and cute hairstyle I have seen since the Waterfall Braid! So... I sat down to figure it out, but after many attempts I wasn't having any luck. As another fan knew I was looking into the braid technique, she posted a picture on our Facebook page with a link to a Russian YouTube video showing the exact technique. The video is not very good quality and at times difficult to follow, but it gave me just enough information to be able to master the braid! Now it is time to share with you all everything I learned! There are endless possibilities with this bow braid hairstyle... short hair, medium hair, long hair, layered hair, hair with bangs, combos, etc. I show you in the video finished hairstyles using the bow braid and adapting it to a braided headband, diagonal braid, lace braid, or even ponytails. This example uses a French Braid Headband as the base before creating the bows. Right after the movie premier, Linda Flowers, the lead hairstylist on The Hunger Games movie set, personally reached out to CuteGirlsHairstyles when she saw how popular our tutorial was! Can you believe it... she reached out to US!!! Linda was so amazed at how iconic the Katniss Braid became, so much that teen girls were wearing the braid to see the movie in theaters! As such, Linda offered to give me a "personal" tutorial of the many Hunger Games hairstyles over Skype! During our tutorial, I quickly saw that Katniss' style had a little more to it than what I had originally thought! Linda showed me how she added the texture into Jennifer Lawrence's hair "before" she created the Katniss braid {something I had not figured out}. She uses a tool called the TopStyler® {by InStyler®} to add volume and stranded twists into the diagonal Dutch braid. I show you how to do this in the tutorial. Some variations use a ponytail on top from which you pull strands into the crown braid. I do not particularly like that version as it leave a hole on the top of the head, and a bump as well. The Crown Braid uses the Dutch Braiding technique, but you pull the hair in on top only from the front. This is what makes the style look so clean, and allows for the braid to pop out. I did quite a bit of research to find the best angles to view it, and with a little help from Lindsey {a loyal fan}, we had a perfect view of the style!
