Which is a well respect high-end audio manufacturer that produce power products for domestic and professional markets. I have added the Shunyata Hydra Model-2 power-conditioner and a Shunyata Python "Alpha" 20amp power cord. Great products overall. I'm playing a music composed by Hans Zimmer, from the album Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Track 9).

This video was encoded in the SONY HDV format with a video resolution of 1440 X 1080 and with MPEG 1 Layer II audio format at 384 kbs. I used the audio from the Discovery CD Remastered edition. However I always felt that this version was too compressed and the stereo sound field was too narrow. So I expanded the dynamic range and stereo sound field. I believe this sounds much better as you can hear the instruments more clearly and bringing this track to audiophile sound quality it deserves for the first time. CD's shouldn't be mastered with the loud as hell method used by record companies as this actually leads to listening fatigue. Thats why a lot of audiophiles still love their LP's. The main reason for uploading this video is to see what effects YOUTUBE has on audio and video. Of course the picture and sound quality are only has good as the source material. Hope you enjoy this version! PS: You may want to load the video completely before playing it as it is a large file. Watch me perform a frequency test on a recently acquired Rockford Fosgate AUDIOphile mid, the RFA-54 (circa 1994-1995). I used an app on my iPhone called "Tone Gen Pro" to sweep frequencies from 2Hz up to 200Hz. The RFA-54 was temporarily mounted in a cardboard box for the test and was powered by 1 channel of a Lepai LP-2020A+ mini amp. After I performed a test to verify the speakers using music, I tested the frequency range using the ToneGenPro app on my iPhone and was amazed at how this little speaker moved and shaked so I thought you guys might like to see it in action! Could this be the best ipod dock that money can buy? This is a short demonstration of how it works & how it plays for those who are serious about getting hi fidelity from their ipod and don't mind paying £900 for one. During my testing sessions it is very clear to me that the Kid produces a superb & involving midband, with the treble on the sweet and slightly soft side, while the bass is solid & well defined. I personally don't like soft & sweet treble, users can easily adjust treble & bass level to their liking but i wouldn't prefer using the Kid's onboard equalization. On a solid state amplification setup (i also tested this with a Naim setup some time ago) the kid manages to give a warm/valve like sound which is appealing to some if you prefer that kind of sound. I personally think it is an exceptional product it would completely wipe out the majority of sub £1k cdp although i must say i tend to look for upgradability on top of functionality in things, especially in high end equipment and i just don't see any for this product. I must conclude that if you're the sort of person that demands quality but rarely would you upgrade your equipment then this is the product for you! However I would be more than happy to have the wadia itransport and a DAC of my desire (& possibly upgrade my DAC in the future!)

Unpacking of my new ASUS Xonar Essence STX Reference Class Audiophile Sound Card. I belive this little gem wipes the floor with any Creative sound card today and I belive it to be a very very splendid long-term choice for listening to music or multimedia in general since it plays and records in realtime at 24 bit/192 khz, done by it's Asus AV100 Sound Processor. Her soundstage is phenomenal, the sound is extremely natural, undistorted, tolerance for increased preamplification decibel load is very high, noise generated by it is by all means inaudible, controls are easy, intuitive, drivers easy to install, all internal switching is done hardware by relays, independent controls for each channel(left and right, just like all the profesional studio or stage gear), internal headphone amplification of extremely high quality and extremely low noise with probably the best headphone amplifier chip from Texas Instruments. Furthermore it has an internal Burr-Brown DAC of 124db Sound/Noise Ratio, the entire upper half of the card is covered by and EMI/ERF Shield, offering total protection from interference and has an external power supply Molex connector for additional, cleaner, better-filtered power. Like I said, this little toy wipes the floor with ANY Creative sound card. And it absolutelly loves Rock, Metal and Classical Music. It's as if it was made specifically for these three types of music genres above all else. Anything will sound phenomenal on this card: rock, metal <b>...</b>
