A more up to date video showing K2RUM after its 2006 overhaul - a back to spaceframe rebuild with a fresh engine and with the Quaife sequential gearbox installed. This video was shot on a rather wet track day at Croix en Ternois in Northern France organised by BHP Trackdays ( www.bhptrackdays.co.uk) a small UK trackday company who organise some of the best value and highest quality events out there. Its pretty slippery, and the inital part of the video requires a very cautious approach as the car is on road tyres at this event, having been driving to and from the event without drama. Not bad for a car with over 600bhp/tonne! Sadly the video from later in the day failed to record, whihc was most doissapointing as on a dry track times were down to 58 secs, and we had the chance to put a 997GT3 RS which was fully race prepped, well and truly in its place - up the straight, as well as in the corners. Coverage of the 1967 BOAC 500 Sports Car Race at Brands Hatch which sealed Ferrari as Sports Car Champions over the Ford GT40's that year. The intro shows a Ferrari 412P - a "customer version" of the famous 330 P3 race car, built for independent teams like NART (0844), Scuderia Filipinetti (0848), Francorchamps (0850), and Maranello Concessionaires (0854). 0854 is seen behind the Ford Transit at the beginning of this film with its unique Cambridge Blue stripe on Rosso Corsa. These cars had carburetor engines instead of the factory Lucas fuel injection of the P4 but were otherwise very similar - A P3 was also updated to p4 spec -the 0846 being since the subject of an intense investgation of authenticity since Ferrari have previously decklared it as destroyed and scrapped. Surviving 412P cars are worth approximately $8 million at auction. 0854 is currently undergoing restoration and conversion from Spyder back to Belinetta by James Glikenhaus.

Warming up in the Cathederal Paddock on Sunday morning 3rd July 2011. Loud? I've stood next to plenty of F1 cars and this was certtainly no quieter. Although it has only a 9000rpm max engine speed, with 12 combustion cycles PER REVOLUTION (unlike a 4 stroke V12 whihc would only have 6) this car produces 108000 combustion cycles per minute. That is 36000 more than a current 2.4l F1 car at 18000rpm! This is the only real running 787B, there is however a second car which sports the same detailing (even down to Le Mans 1991 driver names) which is in much better (less faded, and less battle scars) whihc is used as a PR car. This car was a static display on the Mazda Cars UK stand also at Goodwood that day. Enjoy!

This is the original of this video, shot at Le Mans 2001 . The incident occurred at Indianpolis corner on the 24hrs circuit in France. The dirver left the scene, but was later found by the Gendarmarie hiding at Maison Blanche campsite. He was English and the car was a rental he'd taken for the weekend. What a knob!

Howmet jet car leaves paddock at Spa Francorchamps for qualifying at the 2011 Classic. When shooting tgis particular video on my phone I was rather concerned as to the damage that could be done should it blow up or it's supply of Jet A fuel suddenly be ignited. Engine stats are: 325 bhp at the output shaft which revolves at up to 57000rpm! 650 lbs. ft. of torque at stall Weighs about the same as a 1.6 litre alloy blocked 4 cyl such as a K Series at just 170 lbs (77kgs).

Firing up for qualifying at Silverstone Classic 2011. This is the car which came third in the Daytona 24hrs of 1967 behind the factory P4's of Amon/Bandini (0846 - 1st) and Parkes/Scarfiotti (0856 - 2nd) 0844 and 0848 were originally P3 Factory Racecars but when Ferrari sold them to customers they removed the Lucas Mechanical Fuel Injection and replaced it with Weber carburetors which reduced their output, something Ferrari wanted to do so that they would win points but not beat the fartory cars. The ditches on each side of the road (if you've ever been to Le Mans, you do not need think too hard as to what they are full of) mean't I had to limit the run to 71/2 times around, but I did get both hands off the wheel. British motor racing legend Stirling Moss prepares for his return to the track with a quick sit in the car an hour or so ahead of the race which so nearly ended with a victory at the Silverstone Classic, until his car became stuck in gear. At the wheel of his 1956 1.5-litre OSCA, Sir Stirling OBE was leading his class in the two-driver RAC Woodcote Trophy sportscar race ahead of musician Chris Rea. But with just ten minutes of the one-hour race to run, 80-year-old Moss was forced to pull up in the pit lane. At the time he was lying in 19th position overall after taking over from driving partner Ian Nuthall - they had started 33rd on the 48-car grid. Moss said of his retirement: "She was stuck in fourth gear and I couldn't get it to come out. That's a bit too high a gear to become jammed in. Third I could have coped with. But we were flying and I've really enjoyed it." The race marked Moss's first since he broke both his ankles in an accident at his home in London in March. His retirement from the race meant Rea and co-driver Richard Hodson were able to speed by and take the class win instead.
