From Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1, Episode 22 - "Symbiosis" After the Enterprise learns that one planet is exploiting another by selling it a narcotic that is masking as a medicine for a non-existent plague, Wesley questions why people take drugs in the first place. You can literally substitute a big cartoon bear or any other weekday afternoon children's educational character. It's HILARIOUS. The episode is actually quite good, and deals with ethics in a very thought-provoking way.

Finally got around to making a new video! The playing is a little rough and the editing is nothing amazing but it's my first time recording with Ableton Live and video editing with Final Cut Express. I think it turned out alright for a first attempt. This is just as the title says, a comparison between these two basses. I definitely want to get more demo-type videos up but that'll be after I get a few more old school cartoon themes done (I am still doing those, lol). The basses went straight into the AudioFire4 and are completely unprocessed. I used the EQ on the basses themselves a bit though to get the tones I wanted to demonstrate. Those two terms are how each style was generally distinguished when i was going to school and there was always some debate somewhere on which was better. Yes, it's ALL animation in the end. But I wanted to use a title that might bring people here and see that BOTH sides have stuff that looks pretty damn good =) Second, some background inspiration behind this video: Before moving out of the south, my friends and I had a class with a certain art teacher. He was all for American cartoons and that's cool because I'm a fan of some American animation. Our teacher was especially a big fan of Disney and I admire their work also. But this guy, he didn't like anime. That's fine, everyone's allowed to have an opinion. But he went on to us about the weird big eyes, the voices, the violence, the soap operas, the sexuality, the robots, the gore, the long scenes of nothing but landscape and sitting around...basically the style of Japanese animation altogether. My friends and I looked at each other like WTF??? Class just started and already there was a problem lol! It really made us want to clown back at <b>...</b>

I couldn't find many songs bizzare enough to fit them both, so I chose this one. Whew...it was such a relief to switch to something easy after tackling my 'Nemo' vid...I'd really suggest looking up the lyrics for this song (posting them here would waste space), because this vid is hard to understand without knowing what the lyrics mean) Be warned: The 'Chibi Party' clips have subs, and I attempted lip syncing at some points...needless to say, it could've been better.
