In this video you see Marieke de Bruin and Esther Hertog during a Therapeutic Flying session. This is a form of partner yoga taught during AcroYoga classes. AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. The basic flying posture is similar to the 'Airplane' some of us used to play when we where kids. The 'base' lies on their back on the ground. The 'flyer' is lifted up in the air, supported by the hands and feet of the base. Preforming different yoga stretches we utilize gravity to release and open the flyers' spine while grounding and empowering the base. It must be said that this looks more complicated and challenging then it is in reality. All that is requires it trust, curiosity and a basic body awareness. Of course it's easier if you have done yoga, dance or some other kind of body work before. I wrote some software to merge multiple 3D video streams captured by the Kinect into a single 3D space. Objects from each video stream are superimposed as if they occupy the same physical space, with nearby objects from one video occluding more distant ones from another. Sometimes objects overlap, creating interesting mutant forms. Also, I have a couple of friends who do acroyoga... I've been off slacklining and Acroyoga since last November 2011, finally this Saturday March 17th, 2012 I took some time off to get back to both of them! It felt great! For some reasons I had the sensation of being more focused, energetic and into it than ever before (or that I remember about) and I actually did good compared to what I expected. I thought I wasn't going to be able neither to stand on the slack nor to move 2-3 steps forward the line, most of all on the 2inches Surfline which I've never walked before! I usually use my 1inch, but then again I've been off slacklining for quiet some time and thought my body needed more time to connect its vibes with the slack. Much relieved discovering it wasn't so! When I think about Slackline, at a parallel level Acroyoga takes place in my thoughts. It must be the fact that the first time I learned about Acroyoga (Muscle Beach, Santa monica - CA) I was also learning to Slackline, as the people who were teaching me (Shouts out to Ernie, Filky, Leo, Cisco, Diana,..) these sports belong to the same community and thou training in the same place. So lucky ;) In this video I'm with Chiara. She never tried Acroyoga before and as she told me today she heard of this discipline the first time talking with some friends we have in common, and to which I had thought before! It was great that Chiara was actually wandering what Acroyoga was about 'cause I immediately took the chance to simply show it to her.. with her!!! I told her: 'What <b>...</b>
