高崎車両センター高崎支所に所属する蒸気機関車C61 20が、いよいよ営業運転復活です。6月4日より、上越線・高崎〜水上間で同機が旧型客車6両編成を牽引する、臨時快速列車『SL C61復活号』が運行されています。 当初、同機は7月より開始される観光企画「群馬デスティネーション・キャンペーン」にあわせて運行を開始する、といわれていましたが、急遽6月の土・日曜に『SL C61復活号』を運行することが発表され、この日の指定席券は前月24日・・つまり11日前の発売開始という異例のものでした。 運行開始にあたって同機には『はやぶさ』の絵柄をモチーフとした記念ヘッドマークが掲出され、華を添えています。また高崎駅では出発式が開催され、待望の『SL C61復活号』出発となったものの、高崎問屋町—井野間でアクシデント発生のため、渋川駅まで約25分遅れでの運行となりました（上牧駅通過時点でも約12分遅れ）。撮影者が線路内に立ち入ったのが原因のようですが、これから群馬DC関連のイベント列車が多数控えている中、先が思いやられるスタートとなりました。 ちなみに復路列車は無事、定刻で運行されました。 2011.6.4
