The McLaren F1 is a legend among supercars, holding the production car top speed record at the time of 243mph (391km/h). The powerplant is a 6.1l BMW M produced V12 that provides 627hp to take the car from 0-62mph in 3.2s and 0-100mph in a mind boggling 6.3s. The car features various interesting aspects; a triple seat layout so the driver has great feel of the car, gold foil to reflect heat within the engine bay, and let's not forget quite how fantastic it looks with a design that is yet to be affected by age. This particular car, number #040, is a road going version belonging to famous internet user 'Flemke'. The car has recently been undergoing significant redevelopment by McLaren including a whole new look both inside and out. I was lucky enough to be able to visit the car and shoot this video showing you an overview of the car, some sounds from the gorgeous engine firing up and a few quick revs, shots of the car enjoying the British countryside and some inside driving footage to get you closer to feel of riding in this true masterpiece. I recorded this Mclaren F1 GTR at the Modena Trackdays at the Nurburgring (Germany). I think this was the most incredible track event I have ever visited. There were so many exotic cars; several F40's, 2x F50, FXX, 599xx, lots of 599 GTO's! In this video you will also hear and see the Ferrari FXX, Porsche 996 GT1, Maserati MC12 GT1. A comparison of the acceleration of the new Mclaren MP4 12C with the old legendary Mclaren F1. The Mp4-12C is driven by Jenson Button. The F1 is XP5 on its record run at ehra lessein, driven by Andy Wallace.(taken from my other vid) From the vid: MP4 -12C 0-100mph (160kmh) 6.0s. 0-150mph (240kmh) 13.8s 0-186mph (300kmh) 25.1s the F1 is slightly faster than the 12C up to 240kmh, and then pulls away from 270kmh. At 330kmh, the 12C is only doing 305kmh. NB Car speedos often overestimate the speed, whereas the GPS on the F1 is guiness certified accurate. Used edge detection effects to discover the speed displayed on the F1's GPS. The last digit changes too quickly to be resolved, so when it says 270 the F1 is actually doing 27x kmh.

CvdZijden records this amazing Mclaren F1 GTR at the Nurburgring last week! It is one of my favorite Le Mans car also with the Sauber Mercedes C9/C11, unfortunately that car was not present that day! The Mclaren F1 GTR did alot of laps on the circuit, but after one lap he came in. Because there were 2 seats in this car, so some lucky people get a ride in this machine!! The sound is just fantastic, never expected that!! This car has not a Mclaren engine but a BMW engine and this car cost over the 2.000.000 euro!!!
