The specially-designed vehicle will be one of seven Lexus LS 600h in the wedding party at the nuptials of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Ms. Charlene Wittstock. The Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet is the work of Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet, in partnership with Lexus engineers, and took over 2000 hours to complete. ► Lexus LS 600h Landaulet unveils - Royal weeding car
A unique, full hybrid Lexus LS 600h Landaulet fitted with a one-piece transparent polycarbonate roof will serve as the official royal wedding car when His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco marries Carlene Wittstock in Monte Carlo on 2 July. The conversion was undertaken by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet, working closely with Lexus engineers based in Brussels. The project took more than 2000 hours to complete, with a focus on maintaining the levels of quality and technological sophistication that are fundamental to every Lexus, and preserving the performance, safety and dynamic attributes of the original LS 600h L. The process began with computer-aided design calculation, simulations and 3D modelling. Reinforcing the bodyshell required extensive use of honeycomb structures Kevlar and carbon fibre composite materials to achieve suitable chassis stiffness and torsional rigidity following the removal of the roof and pillars. Composite parts have to be cured at very high temperatures and these were literally 'cooked' on to the bare chassis in a specially prepared oven. This meant that first, much of the vehicle had to be dismantled, with around 20000 mechanical parts, electric component and interior features and upholstery being stripped out. Re-assembly was carried out under close supervision of a Lexus engineering team to ensure consistency with original vehicle specifications and performance. 1923 Daimler Sleeve Valve Landaulet on the road
A ride in a 1923 Daimler D16 landaulet. Sleeve valve engines are very quiet running but burn quite a bit of oil even when they were new. All Daimler engines were this type from about 1908 to the early 1930's. This car had an interesting history being bought from the 1923 London Motor Show stand by the Duke Of Hamilton for the use of his wife's companion. The car was used until the 1930's and then laid up in a furniture repository. It changed hands in 1959 but little was done until it changed hands again in 1999. Four years later in 2004 it was again on the road in 'as new' condition. This sequence was filmed in Worcestershire in July 2005.

First time jumping ... in a long time ! And it was fun , missed it . Going to start jumping more . And I just wanted to get this video up for you guys to see the clips , i'll make a more edited one soon ! But she was great with jumping ! And for Landaulets 'hiccups' at the end ... YES , i am aware that they are not actual hiccups ! I was sitting on her tackless and going to slide off the back ,like i always do ,and she was doing these really funny kick-ups which i wouldn't call bucks because they are too small so we're just calling them hiccups . It was really funny , and my mother who was filming also thought so as you can hear her laughing at us in the background :)

Another film of my sons 1923 Daimler landaulet on a sunny day a few years ago. The rattle is not the engine but the hand throttle lever vibrating against the steering wheel anulus. He restored this car from a derelict condition between 1999 and 2004. The young lady is his mother and my wife.
