How to completely drain GM LT1 engine coolant
Due to it's unique reverse-flow cooling system, some people can be intimidated when it comes to proper cooling system maintenance on GM 5.7L LT1 and 4.3L L99 engines. In this video I show how to completely drain the engine block of coolant on these engines. Merely draining the radiator leaves 60% of the old coolant in the block, and also does not facilitate being able to run fresh water through the cooling passages to remove sediment and rust. Follow along as we do the process on our subject vehicle, a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice with 259000 miles.Enjoy!

FOR SALE OR TRADE, NO JUNK Pro's - 1988 Monte Carlo - Super Sport. 57000 original miles, clean title. The interior is in excellent shape for the year. No damage on the seats or anything. A TRUE SURVIVOR. Fully loaded, never smoked in, the ashtray is mint. Original Tape Player, everything works great. Power everything and it all works great. No A/C though because of the Engine Conversion. It has T-tops, very rare option for 1988 since they only came equipped in 5% of the cars. Body and under body are rust free, car is and has always been undercoated. I have a brand new alarm system for the car, and remote starter setup. It sits up nice and is very stiff, no play at all. It is a low mileage car and you can tell by driving it. May be interested in trading for another vehicle. Engine and Trans - The engine is out of a 1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS-6. It has been completely rebuilt and re-gasket-ed last year. I have put 9000 miles on the new engine with zero issues. They replaced the original CAST heads with Aluminum Corvette Heads off a 1996 Corvette Grand Sport., they were also Ported and Polished. Mid sized CAM for emission purposes. 373 Posi, and Automatic WS-6 trans, 3 speed with Overdrive. All the relays, wiring, and computer components have been installed onto the Monte's Shell. It is very organized and detailed under the hood. New rod bearings, high pressure oil pump, valves, push rods, lifters, etc. The car runs great and Passes Emissions (E-check) in Cleveland,i have the <b>...</b>

LT1 EVAP Purge line repair
A quick cheap fix for a rotted vacuum line that is a different size on both sides. GM discontinued this part and your pretty screwed if you need one. For the last month I had just capped off where this line went until I found this simple fix on the impalass forum.

Very old clip of my L98 optioned 5.7 liter IROC-Z and my buddy Andy's LT1 Camaro... messing around and cruising the day away... 1993 5.7 350ci LT1 (275hp) & 1987 5.7 350ci TPI (225hp) keep in mind that the 1987 was the lowest horsepower rated 5.7L TPI 350 from 87-92 3rd gens, & every year after gaining horsepower, with the 1990-92 cars putting out 245hp. You will notice the high torque of the TPI, as it is stronger out of the hole and gives the LT1 a good run, up until the 1/8 mile mark... then the LT1 takes over up top, & its all LT1 there-after... LT1 water pump drive seal - installation video
Here is how I have installed the water pump drive seal on my LT1 motor. I have done this a few times with success and not a single drip of oil has leaked from it. Be careful not to tear it and you should be fine. These are tools that you should have in any standard mechanics socket set.

In 1990 the G92 option code became a full performance package rather than simply a rear axle option as in previous model years... GM also offered an answer to the Saleen Mustangs by way of option 1LE, which consisted of the G92 optioned without A/C and other creature comforts, and the addition of Corvette brakes and other road racing equipment. About the only way an IROC-Z Camaro could take out a 5.0L Mustang from this era was with the Tuned Port Induction and addition of these performance options: G92 <b>...</b>

Engine: 180000 miles, stock UN-REBUILT LT1 350. iron heads, UN-REBUILT, & UN-PORTED. GMPP 845 Cam - Crane Part # 109821 - Duration at .050: 214*/222*. Comp cams type R lifters, Crane valve springs, Comp cams Pro Magnum 1.6 Roller Rockers. Exhaust: Flowtech Afterburner headers - Part # 49100-1, Custom 2.5" cat delete pipes, 2.5" Hooker catback W/Aero Chamber mufflers. No H pipe. Intake: FIRK II K$N intake, F-body MAF, stock 48mm Throttle Body, Throttle Body coolant bypass. PCM: 94-95 OBD I conversion, Tuned by PCMforLess aka Bryan Herter, with some minor tweaks done by me. 1987 Iroc-Z, Fresh 95 LT1 Motor Swap, LT4 Hotcam, Shortty Edelbrock Headers, 2'5 Y-Pipe Single Exhaust w/ Flowmaster Muffler. NOTE: Upon removal of the stock heads its was determined that the smoke was caused by a broken valve seal. They have since been replaced with a set of aluminum trickflow ported heads. The Smoke is now gone. The exhaust has also been painted black underneath so it dosnt look like crap anymore, it also has a set of 3" Chrome Stainless end tips.
