GPL "The Race"
Highlights clip of an absolutely ferocious race between me (in the Eagle-Weslake), and Obs from NTSC-UK (in the Ferrari). Theres scary moments, scrappy moments, a big crash, but its action all the way and is still wide open up till the last mile (and each lap is nearly 9 miles!!!). This clip stars GPLEA car models, and an updated soundset so that the Eagle-Weslake really screams as it reaches 200mph. The track looks a little dated these days and is the full-blooded 1967 layout of Spa-Francorchamps, which is almost double the length of the current F1 Spa layout, and is worth the price of the game on its own. Its even more fun when put into GPL`s newer sibling "Nascar 2003" as a mod, and tackled in a pack of 40 other 250mph Nascar stock cars. If you`ve ever heard of Grand Prix Legends, and wondered what all the fuss was about, this clip hopefully shows why every racing game fan should own this game. GPL sub-8 Nordschleife with Lotus 49 recorded live 720p
Since my first sub-8 a year ago, finally another one, now with the camera rolling! I tried to do a sensible, clean lap below 8 minutes and almost made it. The time is a 7:59.6 and it is an almost faultless lap but I messed up Galgenkopf pretty good. No idea what happened there, it was like Senna's moment in Monaco 1988! This lap is half a second removed from my personal best at the time. The next day, I improved my PB to 7:56.52m without and nasty bumps ;) Driven as per usual with G25 @ 600deg, right foot braking with H&T (100LBS loadcell) and H-shifter. Next time out I will be using the proper gearbox layout, too! Projector is the Optoma HD8000 @ 1920x1080. Colours look way off due to lighting restrictions when filming. Car looks low from this POV but not from the cockpit. Video resized from 1080p to 720p due to youtube file size restrictions. GPL Dundrod
Nothing fancy here. Just a recorded replay that came with the track "Dundrod". The driver is the track's creator, Jim Pearson. I just reinstalled and patched up Grand Prix Legends and got a few add-on tracks and cars and I thought this track was particularly cool. The car is a Brabham BT24 The video is a test for a future project. I wanted to see how good this nearly nine year old (but still great) simulation would look on youtube.
