Rememeber that bizarre 2012 Lotus Exige teaser (www.worldcarfans.com from before the Frankfurt Motor Show? Lotus has now released the full version and it's still as baffling as ever. Although beautifully shot, the promo titled "Duel" continues the bout between a menacing looking boxer, perhaps symbolic of the Porsche Boxster, versus the heavily facelifted 2012 Lotus Exige. Unsurpringly, the Exige ends up runnning circles around the boxer. The facelifted Lotus Exige S was revealed almost two weeks ago at the Frankfurt motor show powered by a 3.5 liter supercharged V6 from the Evora S producing 350 PS (257 kW / 345 hp) wihtin a 1080 kg (2376 lbs) chassis. For the actual facelift styling a one piece bumper/bonnet clip along with new headlamps shapes the front end while the rear is also revamped with a new rear body with built in lid spoiler, large bolt-on wing and lower diffuser. The Lotus Exige (pronounced /ɛɡˈziːʒ/) is a two-door, two-seat sports car made by Lotus Cars. It is essentially a coupé version of the Lotus Elise, which is a roadster that is mid-engined and has been in production since 1996. The original Exige (NA or naturally aspirated Exige) was launched in 2000 and had a 1.8 L Rover K Series engine in VHPD (Very High Performance Derivative) tune. It produced 177 bhp (132 kW; 179 PS) in standard form and 192 bhp (143 kW; 195 PS) in the "track spec" version. In 2004, the Series 2 Exige was introduced. It features a 1.8 L 16-valve DOHC Toyota/Yamaha engine that produces 190 bhp (142 kW; 193 PS) with the Toyota engine designation of 2ZZ-GE.[1] Compared to the Series 2 Elise, it has a front splitter, fibreglass hardtop roof with roof scoop, rear engine cover, and rear spoiler. The sole purpose of these aerodynamic additions to the base Elise is to create more downforce (almost 100 lb (45 kg) of downforce at 100 mph (160 km/h) in the Exige versus 13 lb (5.9 kg) at 100 mph (160 km/h) in the Elise). In February 2005, Lotus announced a limited production run of 50 Exiges, using the Toyota engine with a supercharger, that increases the power output to 243 bhp (181 kW; 246 PS). These vehicles were only available in yellow or black, representing the colours of Lotus Sport, and are badged 240R. This Lotus Exige "Sc 260" is based on a S2 with a supercharged engine. A standard Lotus Exige S2 has 192bhp. This one with the supercharged is has 260bhp. The exhaust sound is very loud. I records this video a couple of weeks ago during the Dutch Ferrari-Autumn tour. Furthermore has this Exige LED lighting in the front bumper and HELLA lights. This is a very limited edition of the Lotus Exige ( only 35 examples in the world) and it's called "Scura" (in italian "scura" means "dark"). And infact it has got a matte black paintjob with a bright black stripe, from the front to the back of the car. The engine is the same of the Exige 260 Cup and so it's a 1.8 that produces 260 hp. In the video you can't see the bright stripe because of the little drops of water on the car and also because of it was quite dirty... In Italy the cost of this car is about 61000 euros
