The soon to be former band, Powderfinger playing one of their best songs 'My Happiness' Live at sydney Entertainment Centre on September 18th 2010 as part of their Sunsets Farewell Tour. It's heartbreaking that these guys are disbanding, but knowing that was the last time I would see them live (unless they do a John Farnhamn farewell---- OH PLEASE BE A FARNSY FAREWELL!!! I Love his annual farewell tour!!!!!), it was a great show to go out on and they continued to prove why they are such a dominant force in Aussie Rock! RIP Powdie, we're gonna miss you.... Ok, so apart from the depressing fact that that was the last time I'll ever see them live, it was a crazy good concert!! It was amazing, unbelievably incredible!! The played a great mix of songs - I got to hear most of my favourites so I was stoked =D and the band were right on form with their instruments! Bernard's voice was incredible, as was his signature 'emu stomp while sensitively embracing the microphone stand' routine =) Darius and Hoggie shredded their axes to death like crazy wild man child people things (so I don't have a great vocabulary... I'm still greiving... ;) ) JC was really slapping the bass like a pro- maybe because he is, but it was definitely the most energetic performance I'd ever seen a bassist do that's for sure! And He and Hoggie, or should I say Merv, or Maude, depending on how many strings you like... yeah, you can see how they're like an old married couple - they were perfectly in sync and <b>...</b>

Powderfinger - Sunsets, Live at Sunsets Farewell Tour, September 18th 2010 at Sydney Entertainment Centre... I was heartbroken to hear they were calling it a day and thought I was gonna need therapy for the next 20 years to get over the disbanding of one of the finest Aussie bands of all time... But when this song came on, Man, I thought I was gonna need a life coach just to keep it together for the rest of the show!! It's such a shame it's over, but they will always be remembered as the class act they are (soon to be: were), and their names will be burned into the pages of the history books so that no one can forget: The Finger: The band who made dirty melodies beautiful. RIP Powdie... Ahhhh, I love this song =) =) It makes me so happy, even though it's one of those songs you can just sit down and cry to, I just think it's stunning! And this was a great way to end the show, I think it was the perfect song to say goodbye with... Sucks they're saying goodbye, but if they had to go, this was the show to go out on! This is just a really cool instrumental jam I thought, that started after They played Stumblin', I thought the drums were awesome, then the rest of the boys came in and it just kept getting better!! They played this while Bernard made his way back to the big stage to perform an acoustic solo of Nobody Sees. 1. Love your way 2. Lost And Running 3. Burn your name 4. Sunsets 5. Sail The Wildest Stretch 6. Thrillology 7.Already Gone 8. The Metre 9. Like A Dog---------which they played on a little stage behind the mosh pit crowd... it was lovely =DI wish they did their acoustic songs their though, only cause they're my favourites and I had a heaps good view of the little stage =D lol 10. Stumblin'-- after this song Cogsy started with an awesome drum solo, then JC joined, then Hoggie and Darius- it was 2 and a half minutes of instrumental bliss =D =D (Bernard used that as a distraction to get off the little stage) 11. Nobody Sees- Bernard solo with acoustic guitar and harmonica, back on the big stage 12. (The Return Of) The Electric Horseman - Darius on vocals-which was a nice suprise, first time I heard him on lead vocals, I'm pumped he's doing a record now too =D 13. My Happiness-- ironically made me incredibly depressed.. Lol great performance though, everyone was standing up and singing, such a great moment to have in my memory banks =D 14. The Rialto Burns release first single, Radiate, through Gung-Ho Recordings on 7 June. itunes.apple.com Radiate opens with a growling industrial snarl that crashes into a relentless guitar riff, towering synths and brooding vocals. Id been let down by a friend and wed drifted apart, says frontman Adam. I thought Id moved onto better things, then realisation hit: no-ones perfect. Sometimes we all need saving. The Rialto Burns are named after a newspaper headline during the 9 day Toxteth race riots of 1981 which saw the Rialto Ballroom burnt to the ground. They formed two years ago after a domino effect of chance meetings powered by a shared love of The Smiths, New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen and Devo. The story spirals, rather exotically, from the inner city indie hangouts of Liverpool, to a bedroom in North Wales. Paul (bass) and Alex (guitar) both served time in bands theyd rather forget, Cogsy (guitar) bumped into Paul in a pub, and an ad was placed on Gigwise, which Adam (vocalist) answered. They also spent a year hunting for a drummer, but eventually decided to opt for a drum machine instead less sweat and drum-sticks flying around. Since, theyve been slaving away in the studio on the album, gigging across the UK with the likes of Hot Club De Paris and Good Shoes, and working on a few lo-fi videos. The Rialto Burns release Radiate on 7 June the album follows early August. They hit London on April 22 for a show at The Water Rats.
